Krister Knapp has recently been selected as a Higher Education Ambassador for the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a leading U.S. think tank dedicated to promoting understanding of international affairs.
Through CFR Education, the program promotes global literacy by connecting educators with professional development opportunities, networking, and educational resources. Each year, approximately 80 educators are selected as Higher Education Ambassadors from thousands of applicants.
As an ambassador, Knapp will promote CFR’s educational resources in the classroom, building on his existing use of CFR materials in his courses. The role also provides opportunities for professional development, networking, and access to additional educational resources.
The CFR Education Ambassador program is broken out into two distinct cohorts: a High School Ambassador program and a Higher Education Ambassador program. Each is an eight-month engagement that connects educators with free educational resources, professional development activities, and a vibrant network of like-minded professionals. As part of this collaborative, cross-disciplinary learning community, ambassadors champion global affairs literacy, ensuring that students not only understand global issues but also see their own role in shaping them.
